Our History
20+ years of continuous evolution.
Over the past two decades, Chinook has grown from a small consulting firm with a single client, to an interdisciplinary solutions provider supporting critical infrastructure globally. What began with a handful of service offerings has evolved into so much more. Our ability to deliver engineering, controls systems, construction, code compliance, operations, maintenance, and cybersecurity across the lifecycle has charted our roadmap for the future.

Chinook is Born
Following her success supporting the Atlas V heavy lift launch complex at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Wanda Lenkewich was invited to join the Design/Build team for the Pentagon Renovation Program. She saw a challenging opportunity to drive success through comprehensive commissioning, quality assurance, and project controls – intentionally connected through automated workflow and document management technology. Wanda needed a staff to support the project, and Chinook was born.
Quicx™: An Industry Gamechanger
The DoD needed a strategic approach to manage the Pentagon Renovation Program's ever-growing repository of facility data and documentation. In response, Wanda offered up Quicx™, the commissioning and project delivery software she had been developing since the 90's, purposely built for large, complex, mission critical projects. Quicx has grown alongside Chinook and, today, we utilize it on every project.
A Growing Brand. A Trusted Partner
With the continued success of the Pentagon Renovation Program, Chinook's footprint along the East Coast expanded. As facility owners, design teams, and general contractors recognized Chinook's value throughout the commissioning process, our portfolio grew to encompass cultural, public assembly, hospitality, and data center projects.
Things Really Take Off
Recognizing our commitment to excellence in project delivery and document management, the Pentagon selected Chinook to serve as its third-party Commissioning Authority to support its continuous stream of design and construction projects. We've held this contract ever since, encompassing three sites and over 10M square feet of space, continuously responding to the DoD's needs and expanding our scope to include all our primary service offerings and technology.
Expanded Capabilities
Leveraging the engineering prowess of our retro-commissioning team, Chinook began offering professional engineering services to ensure the successful planning, design, and implementation of corrective recommendations. These capabilities have evolved in scope and complexity, to include electrical power studies, MEP design, record document reviews, and building code compliance.
A Cyber Pioneer
Recognizing the ever-growing threats facing our nation's critical infrastructure and Operational Technology, Chinook developed an industry leading cybersecurity program for Industrial Controls Systems (ICS), trademarked CyberCx™.
Beyond Professional Services
Chinook began its design/build engineering and construction practice to deliver a turnkey central plant replacement for the DoD. Following the success of this project, we've expanded these capabilities to include complex HVAC, electrical, and controls systems upgrades, repairs, and replacements at mission critical sites nationally.
A Global Contender
Following the award of the $1.2B Utility Monitoring and Control Systems (UMCS V) IDIQ Contract, and our expansion internationally with project sites in Mexico, South Korea, and Germany, Chinook solidified its reputation as a competitive industry leader in critical facility solutions.
Strategic Technology Solutions
To provide our clients with cutting edge, open source Operational Technology solutions, Chinook entered into strategic partnerships with Lynxspring and Nozomi.
Boots on the Ground, Nationwide
With the award of our Technical and Programmatic Support Services (TPSS) contract and innovation in our workforce, strategic partnerships, our technology, Chinook grew its footprint to encompass contracts in all 50 States and the territories of Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan, and American Samoa.
